Edexcel Mathematics Awards are small, stand-alone qualifications designed to help learners develop and demonstrate proficiency in different areas of mathematics. By helping learners focus on understanding key concepts and techniques, they can build their mathematical confidence and fluency.
- Northern Ireland
Schools and colleges may offer qualifications that are not included in the performance tables, if approved for teaching to 16-19 year olds, where this is in the best interests of individual students.
This qualification is not listed on the 16 - 19 Performance Tables. It is a small qualification providing support for mathematical requirements in other qualifications. It may act as a stepping stone to larger qualifications that are on Performance Tables.
The Edexcel Level 3 Award in Statistical Methods helps students develop an understanding of concepts in statistics and a sound foundation of statistical methods
This qualification may be taken as part of a broader programme to support other subjects which require knowledge and understanding of mathematics.
- Pearson Education Ltd
This is a linear single unit qualification consisting entirely of mandatory content.
- Data, including types of data, sampling, estimating populations
- Displaying data
- Calculating with data
- Interpreting data
- Level 3
Level 3 qualifications regulated to the Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF).
A levels are also Level 3 qualifications regulated to the Regulated Qualifications Framework.
Level 3 is the same level as the Scottish Credit and Qualifications Framework (SCQF) Level 6.

Pearson Edexcel Award in Statistical methods
This qualification will be taken alongside other level 3 qualifications, such as A levels. It will help to support other qualifications and will aid progression to degree programmes that have a significant mathematical requirement.
Assessment available in January and June, results in March and August
This is a current qualification.
The results of many UK qualifications are reported to UCAS through Awarding Body Linkage (ABL)
- A level and results from larger awarding bodies are reported automatically
- IB results are only reported with the candidate’s permission
- Some results are not reported through ABL; this does not reflect the validity of the qualification.
The results available through ABL can be found at: https://www.ucas.com/providers/undergraduate/undergraduate-application-process/awarding-body-linkage-abl#documents.
Where results are not available through ABL, HEPs will need to ask applicants to provide their own evidence of achievement.
The results of this qualification reported through ABL.
Learners may take this alongside other qualifications, such as AS/A levels or BTEC Nationals, and it will support the development of mathematical understanding in those subjects. The qualification will aid progression to higher level programmes that have a significant mathematical content.
